Call for Larps
We are excited to tell you that our call for larps is now open!
Moreover, we are launching a design challenge: create a larp for three space suits. You can find more information about the Space Suit Challenge below.
We are looking for larps that meet the following criteria:
- The larp (including workshop and debrief) lasts at most 4 hours;
- It is plug-and-play, meaning that players can arrive without any prior preparation (for example, no costuming, no need to read any materials beforehand, etc.)
- The larp is designed by you.
You are expected to run your larp yourself. In exceptional cases, we may allow someone other than the designers to run the larp; please contact us in advance if this applies.
We recommend suggesting scalable larps (i.e. larps where the number of players is flexible) as it makes it easier to compose the programme. However, non-scalable larps are also welcome.
We offer several spaces for larps, including a theatre black box with professional technical equipment. If needed, our technicians can assist you with setting up your larp and running the tech during play. However, you are more than welcome to suggest larps that do not require fancy technology.
Limited financial support for travel costs is available, but we encourage larp designers to apply independently for travel funding when possible. We are happy to assist with applications if needed.
To suggest your larp for Immersion, please fill in this form no later than February 28, 2026.

Larp design challenge: a larp for three space suits
Three space suits. Any number of players. One larp.
We invite larp designers to take part in the Space Suit Challenge: design a larp built around three space suits that we will provide (see images below), with expert support available during the run. We will feature up to three Space Suit Challenge larps in the Immersion 2026 programme.
You can apply to the Space Suit Challenge using the same submission form as for other larps.
The suits can be worn comfortably for approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on the August temperatures. Your larp may be longer, as long as not all play time is spent inside the suits.
The space suits were originally created by Tomi Junnila, Fýr Romu, Karolina Suominen, and Tonja Goldblatt for the larp Mars 2175 by Riina Varjovuori et al., run at the Tuorla Observatory in 2024 and 2025.
More information on the space suits
- Three suits (sizes L, XL, and XXXL). The smallest suit differs slightly from the other two, which you may choose to incorporate into your design.
- Suiting up takes approximately 15 minutes and requires assistance from at least one other person.
- Suits are based on flotation suits, with detachable custom-made helmets and oxygen tanks (see photo). All parts must be worn together for the suit technology to function.
- Built-in cooling fans to help manage heat.
- Built-in walkie-talkies enable communication between suited players, with off-site or off-stage characters (for example, a control room or mothership), or directly with the larp runner.
- A functional wrist computer that allows the larp runner to send messages or trigger alerts (low oxygen or radiation warnings). It also displays additional information but it is purely atmospheric.
- Helmets with orange plexiglass visors and lamps controlled via the wrist computer.
